Q: What is included in the latest “Classwork What’s New” update?
A: This update focuses on enhancing student growth visibility through advanced reporting and new interactive tools. Key features include retroactive standards tagging, DOK/Bloom’s taxonomy integration, and an expanded editing toolbox for creating tech-enhanced items.

Q: How can teachers ensure assessment rigor with the new tagging features?
A: Teachers can now specify cognitive levels, such as DOK 3 (Strategic Thinking) and DOK 4, directly when generating or tagging questions. This ensures that assignments move beyond simple recall to deeper application and analysis.

Q: Can I tag academic standards to assignments I’ve already created?
A: Yes. The new auto-tagging feature allows educators to apply learning standards retroactively to past assignments, ensuring consistent data tracking across the entire school year. It will also retroactively tag assignments already created.

Q: What new interactive question types are available in the toolbox?
A: The “Overlays” section of the new toolbox includes several autograded options:
  • Standard Item Types: Multiple Choice, True/False, and Checkboxes.

  • Advanced Tech-Enhanced Items: Hot Spots, Drag Zones, Dropdowns, and Match Table Grids.

  • Math-Specific Tools: Number Lines, Fraction tools, and Algebra/Formula inputs.

Q: How does Classwork.com help administrators monitor progress?
A: Administrators have access to a suite of 12+ reports, including the Quintile Report for achievement distribution and the Subgroup Performance Report to analyze equity gaps. Additionally, the Teacher Practice & Rigor Exposure report helps monitor instructional effectiveness across the district.

Q: Can external educational tools be used within Classwork activities?
A: Yes. The new Embed Feature allows teachers to integrate interactive content from third-party products directly into the student view.
